November favourites – part1

Because Inktober has ended, I decided to do another project for November – posting my top favourite artists in my stories on Instagram. But because they are only visible for 24 hours, I’ll post them in 3 parts here too. Some of them is really famous, some of them deserves a lot more attention, getting known by others, so just enjoy my selection πŸ™‚ And if you get inspired for Christmas shopping, all of them has an online shop, so you know, “support small” when you can!

Kew Gardens

Kew Gardens is one of my favourite places ever. And I was lucky enough to have a chance to work for them on a commission for 2017 Christmas. So I fell in love with the place about 2 years ago, became a member, went there regularly to draw, and at some point got the confidence to get in touch with the head buyer of the shop who trusted me and gave me a chance. Meetings, sketches, design developing followed, and I ended up designing a card and a teatowel-design what they use now for ceramics and cards too. But let me show you pictures instead of me talking πŸ™‚

And yesterday I had a chance to visit the pottery where the mugs and bowls and jugs were being made..!! Thanks to my wonderful photographer friend Eva Nemeth for making it possible for me to visit the pottery,Β also for taking some pictures in your mesmerising style!!!!

And about the pottery – if you have a chance, visit them too, because it’s a whole package with gardens, a cafe and a shop, you can easily spend there half a day, so much to see! And everyone is really lovely, in the pottery, in the shop, in the cafe…! Aston Pottery is a highly recommended place for a relaxing afternoon πŸ™‚

So that’s the whole process from me discovering Kew Gardens until my range of Christmas products in their shop. I am still emotional, because that’s the dream – to work for places I love and to work with small businesses like this pottery, where everything is handmade.
